The New Uber: DriverOnTap to Launch in the Hamptons

You’re still lamenting the Uber ban from East Hampton to Montauk. Time to buck up, Hamptons vacationers. DriverOnTap is hitting town Memorial Day Weekend and people will be able to get a safe ride home in their own cars with the click of a screen.

The process is as simple as swipe, swipe, tap. Tap to book a driver and wait for them to meet you at your desired location and drive you home in your car. A local cab company will get your driver home while you head up to bed.

Co-creators Alex Riguardi and Jose Ramirez, who launched the app in Michigan in 2015, hope DriverOnTap helps Hamptons vacationers stay safe on the roads during the East End’s peak social season.

“The Hamptons is all about exquisite cars, elegant events and the hot social scene. DriverOnTap is the perfect fit to get people where they want to be safely and with the convenience of their own vehicle,” Riguardi said.

DriverOnTap will service users from Southampton to Montauk with an added option for trips to and from Manhattan. Heading east by helicopter but want your car for the weekend? A driver can handle getting your vehicle to your home while you soar above traffic.

All drivers must be screened, licensed and fully insured and customers can view their name, contact information and ETA. Fees begin at $35 and users can get an estimate based on the distance of the trip prior to booking a driver.
