Spring is in full swing and summer is coming up quick, which means weekends are spent checking out the local farmers markets to see what’s for dinner. The Bay Shore Farmers Market opened on Friday, May 20th and was met with beautiful temperatures, live music and tons of foot traffic. Referred to as “Bounty By The Bay,” this newcomer to the farmers market scene can be found right in the heart of Bay Shore.
Whether you’re in the mood for delicious gluten-free pastries and kombucha, or you just want to sink your teeth into some salt-brined potatoes and gourmet beef jerky, this market has it all. Bounty By The Bay is held every Friday from 2-7pm at the Bandshell on Main Street starting now until September 23.
The Farm Beyond
Stop by this stall filled to the brim with Certified Organic vegetables, seasonal floral bouquets and foraged edible plants. Italian heirloom chicories and farm-grown ramps have been top sellers so far but don’t miss out on their heirloom tomatoes come summer. The farm also grows specialty items like Sorrel and Fiddleheads and will only be available for a limited time. Learn more.
Drink Coquito and the food truck serves up Puerto Rican food. The truck also sells traditional cooking condiments, sauces and Coquito “Puerto Rican Egg Nog” mix. This bounty offers an array of deliciously scented, organic beauty products that are also economical.
