DanceBody founder and former professional dancer, Katia Pryce, has amassed a cult fitness following in Manhattan so it was only a matter of time before she expanded to the Hamptons. Pryce, whose classes focus on working both small and large muscle groups, will be teaching pop-up classes this summer at fitness hotspots like Bridgehampton Tennis & Surf Club, DanceHampton and Gurney’s Montauk Resort & Seawater Spa. I spoke with the diminutive fitness star about her favorite spots out East, her ideal summer weekend and more.

Long Island Pulse: When was your first summer experience in the Hamptons?
Katia Pryce: My first summer experience in the Hamptons was in 2010. I came out East for work and I fell in love instantly.
Pulse: What are some of your favorite healthy spots to eat at in the Hamptons?
Pryce: I love eating at Vine Street on Shelter Island and both Duryea’s and Crow’s Nest in Montauk. They’re all super fresh and very healthy.
Pulse: What is your favorite Hamptons beach? What do you pack in your beach bag?
Pryce: I’m in love with Little Plains Beach in Southampton. I always pack Smart Water, Sun Bum sunscreen, a good book that I can’t seem to finish and usually a bottle of rosé (I share it!).
Pulse: What one item of clothing or accessory do you take with you every time?
Pryce: It’s always my wrinkled, white, cotton/silk blend Calypso button down—goes with literally everything.
Pulse: What is your go to place to shop?
Pryce: I frequently find myself at Round Swamp Farm, White’s Apothecary and Intermix.
Pulse: What makes the Hamptons special for you?
Pryce: Being outdoors. My dog gets to run around, I get to drive a car, having wine at sunset with friends–it’s such a welcome break from the non-stop energy and dirtiness of the city.
