What: Permaculture–Ecological Practices for Our Future
Where: Quail Hill Farm
When: Saturday, June 18, 10am
Why Go: Katrina Ailadi and Julianna Duryea discuss what steps to take if you want to implement green and eco-friendly practices into your everyday life. This free event takes place outdoors on the farm so be sure to bring a blanket or a beach chair. Go.


What: Swing Into Summer at The Bridge
Where: The Bridge Golf Club
When: Saturday, June 18, 6pm
Why Go: Take in the picturesque surroundings at this East End golf club with passed hors d’oeuvres and wine poured by Wölffer. DJ Sam French will spin music and a silent auction will take place. All proceeds will go to The Group, a local conservation organization. Go.

What: Summer Solstice Celebration
Where: Unitarian Universalist Meetinghouse
When: Saturday, June 18, 6pm
Why Go: This potluck dinner and ceremony takes place around a campfire. Bring your favorite dish to share with everyone and make some new friends as you witness the arrival of the summer. Rain or shine. Go.

What: SOFO’s 2nd Annual Climate Change Symposium
Where: South Fork Natural History Museum
When: Saturday, June 18, 5pm
Why Go: Come and hear what some of the brightest minds have to say about their fights as environmental activists. Many will discuss sustainability and recommend ways to instill positive environmental changes on the East End. Go.

East Hampton

What: TurboTri
Where: Maidstone Park Pavilion
When: Saturday, June 18, 5pm
Why Go: This race is designed for all ages and abilities. After you swim, bike and run, there is a dinner with drinks and music. Proceeds will be donated to i-tri Transformation Through Triathlon. Go.


What: Sunset Cruise on Peconic Bay
Where: Third Street Dock
When: Friday, June 17, 6pm
Why Go: Sip Bedell wines as you watch the sunset over the pristine Peconic Bay. There will be a local raw bar and antipasti served on-board the Peconic Star Express. Go.


What: Navy Beach Benefit for Navy Seal
Where: Navy Beach Restaurant
When: Saturday, June 18, 6pm
Why Go: This event hosted by Navy Beach brings awareness and monetary support to the Navy SEAL Foundation. Watch Nancy Atlas perform live while you try some of Navy Beach’s signature bites. There will be wines provided by Opici Wine Group and beers by Montauk Brewing Company. Go.

Port Jefferson

What: Green Fest 2016
Where: Port Jefferson Village Center
When: Saturday, June 18, 1pm
Why Go: Check out environmentally conscious companies that are hitting the market. Various solar panels and smart, electric and hybrid vehicles will be on view. Watch live demonstrations, listen to live music and when hunger hits pick up fresh fruit at the mini-farmers market. Go.


What: Vines and Canines Educational Vineyard Walk
Where: Martha Clara Vineyards
When: Sunday, June 19, 11am
Why Go: Get a wine education with your pup while walking along the rolling green hills of this vineyard. Bring a can of non-perishable dog or cat food for entry, it will be donated to the local animal shelter. Go.


What: Full Moon Paddle and Picnic
Where: Entrance to Sagg Pond
When: Friday, June 17, 6pm
Why Go: Paddle and enjoy a picnic under the full summer moon. Mike Bottini guide visitors to local plants and wildlife. Don’t have a kayak? No problem, they’re available to rent–just be sure to make a reservation ahead of time. Go.

Shelter Island

What: 37th Annual Shelter Island 10k & Revelry on the Rock
Where: Island Boatyard and Marina
When: Saturday, June 18, 7pm
Why Go: After participating in the 10k on one of the most coveted trail-running courses, come join the party! Live music will be performed by Hoo Doo Loungers and DJ Twilo. Grab something to eat at one of the local artisan food trucks or quench your thirst at the cash bar. Try your luck by entering the raffle or go check out some of the local merchant booths. Go.
