If you think summer eating calls for salads and grilled chicken, one bite of Wild Side Organic Bistro’s wood fired pizza will make you change your mind. Former owners Raquel Wolf-Jadeja and Jay Jadeja of West East Bistro in Hicksville got a wood-fired grill, opened the organic bistro and market in Oakdale in April and people have been eating pizza by the pie ever since.

“It is the destination place for people who really care about organic ingredients and healthy food that doesn’t taste healthy,” Wolf-Jadeja said.
Though the family’s recipe standards are rigid, the cafe’s vibe is laid-back. Enjoy local musicians on Fridays and Saturdays, dine al fresco beneath market umbrellas or snag a seat at the bar for one of a dozen craft beer options, espresso or fruit martinis and the signature Wild Side Sangria. A relishing blend of goji liqueur and pineapple juice serves as the perfect complement to one of their tasty wood fired pizzas, like the Funghi Pizza, dressed in an assortment of shiitake, crimini and maiitake mushrooms; fontina cheese; thyme and finished with white truffle oil.
If your cravings call for something other than pizza, ask for a Pan Roasted Wild King Salmon served over their vegetarian chickpea stew or Bombay Style Gumbo with Carolina shrimp, chicken, chorizo, cayenne and garam masala.
Wild Side is launching an à la carte lunch menu so customers can customize their pizza experience.
“We are excited to…highlight sustainability among our food choices.”
