4 Adoptable Dogs in Need of Summer Loving

Summer loving, got me a pup! OK–those may not be the words to the Grease summer anthem, but we could all use some extra love and kisses this summer from a four-legged friend. North Shore Animal League America in Port Washington has the sweetest of the sweet, the friendliest of the friendly and the cutest of the cute. Take Fido to the beach, the park, the company picnic and snuggle on a lazy Sunday with one (or more) of these four furry creatures.

Ruby is a small, collie-hound mix who was brought to the shelter a few years ago. When she arrived, the staff discovered she has a condition called cardiomyopathy, which means that her heart sometimes beats too fast and causes her to faint. Ruby is doing well on medication, which North Shore Animal League America will provide her new family with for free for her entire life. Cardiomyopathy hasn’t stopped her from being a bundle of energy. Ruby gets along with cats and some dogs and would do best in a home with adults only.

Lola is a beautiful 4-year-old cattle dog mix. She is a playful and loving girl who is sweet and just wants to be by your side at all times. Lola loves to romp with other dogs and would do best in an with a family that can run and play with her all day long.

Unfortunately when she came to the shelter the staff discovered that she is deaf, however, she relies on her other senses to get around and responds really well to gestures and exciting looks. And she is just the sweetest thing that you will ever meet.

Dezi is a kind and loyal girl from Thailand and was rescued from the Soy Foundation. She was going to be sold in the meat trade business and unfortunately had a rough past, but now that she’s on Long Island, she’s running and playing with the best of ’em. Dezi’s housebroken and about six years old, likes other dogs and would do best in a home with older children. She would love nothing more than to just sit by your side and play.
