What would the 90s have been like without overalls? “In the 90s, you were cool when you wore one strap down but that’s no longer the case.” These days, anything goes. Both straps up, both down, skinny fit or with a slightly baggy fit, it doesn’t matter. Another upgrade: in 2016, leather and camo prints are making a statement, giving overalls an urban edge. “For an updated look, you can wear overalls with a bodysuit underneath and your favorite pair of loafers.”

Bomber Jacket

This military inspired piece remains a stylish outer-layer for any day trip or casual evening. “The fit falls right at the natural waist which is flattering on all shapes and it’s roomy enough to be comfortable.” There are endless ways to style it. Edge up a feminine dress by flaunting it with leather booties or pair it with an oxford style white button up, boyfriend jeans and high heels for a fun night-out look. “If you prefer casual, then pair it with a graphic tee, jeans with fray on the bottom and your favorite sneakers.”

Tying Clothing Around Your Waste

Say hello to the epitome of grunge. When a cool morning turns into a balmy afternoon, tie that sweater or jacket around your natural waist. “The grunge look is meant to look effortlessly cool but it actually takes a little bit of effort.” Glenn recommended wearing a loose-fitting top and keeping bulk to a minimum at the bottom to create an enviable silhouette. Opt for slim-fitting pants like skinny jeans or leggings. Finish the look off with motorcycle-style boots. Optional but recommended: humming Nirvana.

Over-Sized Sweaters

Nothing says fall like a comfy sweater big enough to brace the crisp air. Oversized sweaters are oh-so-versatile and look effortless with leggings. “Rule of thumb: pair oversized pieces with skinny or slim bottoms. It provides a balanced silhouette.” For an updated twist, wear them with faux leather leggings and a choker. Add jewelry and combat boots to make the outfit more modern or opt for knee-high boots for classic appeal.
