Sag Harbor

What: Sag Harbor American Music Festival
Where: Various locations
When: Thursday, Sept. 29 – Sunday, Oct. 2
Why Go: There’s something for everyone at this weekend music festival, with jazz and blues tunes to folk music and pop and rock songs. This 6th annual event will feature a live music dance party, an original concert film and a main stage concert at Old Whalers Church. Go.


What: Extreme Magic & Thrills
Where: The Suffolk Theater
When: Friday, Sept. 30, 8pm
Why Go: Bring the whole family to this elaborate performance and experience the magic and illusions of Eric Wilzig, as presented on America’s Got Talent. Knife throwing and sword swallowing are sure to make this show a crowd pleaser. Go.

What: 16th Annual Oceans of Hope Dinner Benefit
Where: Long Island Aquarium & Exhibition Center
When: Friday, Sept. 30, 7-10pm
Why Go: Enjoy an evening of cocktails and entertainment at this Mardi Gras themed celebration. Support the Riverhead Foundation for Marine Research and Preservation while enjoying Louisiana-inspired food and jazz music. Go.

Hampton Bays

What: San Gennaro Feast of the Hamptons
Where: Hampton Bays Long Island Railroad Station
When: Saturday, Oct. 1 – Sunday, Oct. 2
Why Go: Now in its 6th year, the feast promises to be fun for the whole family. Thousands are expected to attend this year’s festivities, which will feature Italian delicacies, live entertainment, rides and fireworks. Go.


What: PumpkinFest
Where: Suffolk County Farm
When: Saturday, Oct. 1 – Sunday, Oct. 2
Why Go: Get lost in the corn maze and kick off fall with a fun filled day of wagon rides, pumpkin picking and family games. Enjoy snacks from local vendors and live bands and entertainment. Go.


What: Hamptons Marathon & Half
Where: Southampton Intermediate School
When: Saturday, Oct. 1, 8am
Why Go: Lace up your shoes and participate in a marathon, half-marathon or 5K this weekend. The route loops around the End End’s famous beaches and wooded roads for an experience that’s truly one of a kind. Go.


What: Long Island Potato Festival
Where: Long Island Sports Park
When: Sunday, Oct. 2, 11am-4pm
Why Go: Celebrate a tradition of Long Island potato growers and farms at this 3rd annual event, featuring food trucks, live music, craft beverages and family-fun activities and contests. Go.

Garden City

What: Crossroads Quartet
Where: Adelphi University Performing Arts Center (AUPAC)
When: Saturday, Oct. 1, 4pm
Why Go: Crossroads is a world champion a cappella quartet made up of four versatile, award-winning vocalists. Though steeped in the tradition of Barbershop Harmony, Crossroads enjoys singing a wide variety of musical styles including vocal jazz, blues, gospel, pop classics and standards from the Great American Songbook.
