Why Go: This 2nd annual event promises a day of family fun with music, family movies at the Performing Arts Center, art and local foods, wines, beers and ciders. Go.

What: 5th Annual Westhampton Beach OysterFest
Where: Village Marina
When: Saturday, Oct. 8, 11am-5pm
Why Go: This maritime celebration features live music, food trucks and vendors, fall crafts and family activities and oyster shucking contests. Go.

East Islip

What: Murmrr Presents: Small Black with Future Punx and Zuli
Where: Islip Art Museum
When: Saturday, Oct. 8, 7-11pm
Why Go: Enjoy an evening of complementary drinks and entertainment at this Long Island kickoff concert. The show marks Murmrr’s first appearance as an artist development and concert company. Go.

New Suffolk

What: Peconic Bay Sailing Association Whitebread 23
Where: Around Shelter Island and Peconic Bay

Why Go: Long Island and sailing go hand in hand. Enjoy the beautiful views of Shelter Island and celebrate all things nautical with the local sailing community at this 23rd annual regatta. Go.

What: Animal Rescue Fund of the Hampton’s 23rd Annual Stroll to the Sea Dog Walk

What: 35th Annual Fall Festival

Why Go: There’s a Clam Chowder Contest, local beer and wine, Oktoberfest foods, rides, raffles, live music and a local farmer’s market. Go.

Shelter Island

What: Sunday Night Jazz
