Why Go: Explore this haunted mansion and experience Halloween shrills and chills as you discover the many haunted rooms, including the “Lost Library,” the “Den of Despair,” and the “Chapel of the Lost Flock.” Go.

What: Giuseppe Verdi’s La Traviata
Where: Adelphi University Performing Arts Center
When: Saturday, Oct. 22
Why Go: Experience the immense and tragic love story of Violetta and Alfredo at this film screening in Concert Hall. Director Ronaldo Villazón brings Verdi’s masterpiece into the colorful world of the circus, staring Olga Peretyatko and Atalla Ayan. Go.

Locust Valley

What: Locust Valley’s 11th Annual Harvest Festival
Where: Various Locations throughout the village

Why Go: This harvest day offers family fun, shopping and fine foods. There will be carriage rides, live music, an antique car show and special events from local businesses. Go.

East Hampton

What: 6th Annual ‘Real Men Wear Pink’ Cocktail Party
