Charles Dickens 21st Annual Festival
Where: Port Jefferson Village
When: Saturday, Dec. 3 & Sunday, Dec. 4
Why Go: Watch A Christmas Carol come to life in downtown Port Jefferson. The two-day Dickens-era holiday celebration features Santa’s Workshop, carolers in costume, horse and carriage rides, ice skating, free concerts and more. Be sure to stick around for the Theatre Three’s 33rd annual production of the Dickens classic A Christmas Carol. Go

Cutchogue Holiday House Tour

Where: The Village Green, Cutchogue
When: Saturday, Dec. 3, 11am-3:30pm
Why Go: Eat, drink and be merry at some of the North Fork’s most beautifully decorated bed and breakfasts. Among the six stops on the 2016 Cutchogue Holiday House Tour are four stunning B&Bs, where local wine tastings and small bites, courtesy of the area’s most noteworthy chefs, will be served. Take the chance to get some holiday shopping done. The event will showcase North Fork artists and merchants at each stop, providing a perfect opportunity to score unique gifts. Go

Twilight Tours of Decorated Vanderbilt Mansion

When: Monday, Dec. 26 & Tuesday, Dec. 27, 7-9pm
Why Go: Each holiday season, local garden clubs and decorators deck the halls of the stunning Vanderbilt Mansion. While the museum regularly hosts daytime guided visits to the fully decorated historic home throughout the month of December, this year give their special two-day only Twilight Tours a try. The evening tours are only time of the year the Vanderbilt family’s private living quarters can be seen at night. Another special treat: cookies and hot chocolate are included. Go

The Christmas Boutique at Osprey’s Dominion Vineyards


Where: Osprey’s Dominion Vineyards, Peconic
When: Saturday, Dec. 10, 12-5pm
Why Go: Check off everyone on your holiday gift list while enjoying award-winning wines at The Christmas Boutique at Osprey’s Dominion. The afternoon will feature more than a dozen vendors from the East End selling handmade jewelry, soaps, candles, art, home décor, crocheted apparel and more. The outdoor fire pits will be burning and the newly built Winter’s Nest Bar will be open for tastings. There will also be live music and Santa will be on hand for photos ops. Go
