Start the night off at Press 195, a laid-back hideaway with an outdoor terrace perfect for setting the mood. The restaurant with a cozy interior offers delicious pressed sandwiches like the grilled marinated sliced steak or hot pastrami served on handmade ciabatta bread. The intimate bar setting only adds to the vibe. Go.

Sol Bar & Grill may not look like much on the outside but don’t be too quick to pass judgment. Full of New York pride, happy hour and—whenever a local team is playing—half-priced beer. The casual sports bar surprises itself by luring Friday and Saturday night crowds upstairs towards its lavish dance floor equipped with a lounge, chic, high white bar stools and a weekend DJ. Go.

Safari Beach Club

Packed with charm and ever-changing nightly specials, Safari Beach Club comes highly recommended. Think Monday night karaoke, Tuesday night beer pong tournaments, a hopping Wednesday ladies night with $5 unlimited drinks 8pm-3am, a live DJ on Friday and Saturday nights and Sunday all day wristbands for unlimited drafts $20 and domestic $25 import. Go.

Tapas and wine are perfect for a trendy but low-key evening. This little nook is the ideal place to unwind with friends. It offers $3 off tapas and $3 off drinks everyday 4pm-8pm. Grab a big table, order a bunch of sharing items like the chipotle chicken wings and keep the wine coming. Go.

Bourbon Street

Don’t be fooled by the New Orleans mock name—this Bayside restaurant is a hidden New York gem. Its downstairs works as both an eatery and bar but that’s not the part my sources raved about. The rooftop lined with shrub, a long bar, couches and tiny tables makes for a night out that’s as scenic as it is satisfying. Go.

Quell sweet tooth cravings at Martha’s Country Bakery. From the curb it appears cozy, decorated with a window of pie and twinkle lights, but once guests step inside they are greeted with a counter of endless fresh baked choices and quaint circle tables perfect for two. Your next date spot? Definitely. But while there don’t forget to try the banana bread pudding—it’s a local favorite. Go.
