Toast Coffeehouse Expanding to Bay Shore

Brunch lovers, rejoice! Toast Coffeehouse will be making its way to Bay Shore’s foodie haven this spring. The café known for its creative menu selections, laid-back local vibe and large crowds will be opening its third location in the space of the former Hemisphere restaurant.

“We were really looking for a tight knit community,” said owner Terence Scarlatos. “For Toast, we do best in a walk-around town that has a strong chamber of commerce. There is a lot of pride in Bay Shore in how far they have come and we would like to be apart of that.”

Eighty percent of the menu items will be consistent with the breakfast and lunch options in Port Jefferson and Patchogue. The other 20 percent Scarlatos likes to be creative with.

“It’s all about what people will enjoy in that area. Bay Shore could definitely use a breakfast place with some fun dishes.”

And entertaining they are. There are talks of a smoker being brought on premise to prepare smoked meats like salmon and brisket for breakfast and lunch delights. Plus, the Bay Shore location will also have a full liquor license equip with a Bloody Mary bar.

“Since the space [used to house] an established restaurant with a full bar, we are going to use what bones are there and style around it.”

Unlike its sister locations, Bay Shore Toast will warmly greet guests with a fireplace and French doors that can be used for indoor or outdoor dining. But the comfy breakfast nooks adorned by eclectic mugs and walls full of art will remain the same.

“The hope is to inspire creativity and make the [Bay Shore] community have a great start to their day.”
