Around 32 United States presidents found comfort in the loyalty and friendship of a loving pooch. This President’s week, North Shore Animal League America in Port Washington has five adorable dogs searching for a forever home and some new best friends to call their own.
Henry, a four-month-old lab mix, is the ultimate companion. He is still very much an active puppy but knows when it’s time to Netflix and chill becoming just as much a couch potato as his owner.
Zen is a one-year-old fun-loving older puppy. As a lab terrier mix possessing high-energy, she would be a great student for someone who has had previous dog experience and solid training skills.
AJ is an old soul. At 13 years old, the Yorkshire terrier and Papillon mix would love to find a quiet household to spend his retirement. It would be best for him to have someone around often to help him with his diabetic medication, but similar to other Yorkshire terriers, he will return the favor by showing incredible loyalty.
Cody is the perfect home guardian. As a two-year-old Rhodesian ridgeback mix, he is very confident and protective. He would do best in a home with adults only, especially with someone who possesses strong leadership skills to show him the ropes.
Augie is known as the gentle giant of the bunch. He is a three-year-old lab hound mix who does very well with children becoming the ideal family pet. Like his breed, he is well known for his cheerfulness and lively companionship.
