Arbor Day Family Festival
Celebrate the environment at Planting Fields in Oyster Bay. The Arbor Day Family Festival (held on Saturday, April 29 and Sunday, April 30) is meant to bring attention to the importance of trees and the need to preserve the environment. There are tons of activities to keep the family entertained, including tree climbing, arts and crafts and a petting zoo. Live music is another plus. Even better? Spend some more time with the family at the 7th annual fair meant to entertain. Set for April 30 at the Huntington Hilton, the All Kids Fair will have tons of amenities, including a petting zoo, sand art and face painting. Huntington Tulip Festival

That old saying, “April showers bring May flowers” is proven true at the annual Huntington Tulip Festival. On the first Sunday in May, walk among 20,000 tulips in Huntington’s Heckscher Park and easily forget about the snowstorms endured this winter. The free family-oriented event also includes activity booths for children, family performances and art exhibitions. Go
Montauk Music Festival
Music lovers, head to the East End to enjoy the sounds of this festival taking place for the eighth time. From May 18 to May 22, more than 100 independent artists of all genres will serenade crowds at various locations all around Montauk, including the popular Gurney’s Montauk. Go

Spend Memorial Day Weekend at Jones Beach watching the action in the sky. This year, The United States Air Force Thunderbirds will be the stars of the show painting the sky white. It’s a good idea to get there early since past shows have garnered more than 200,000 people. Go
