Step Into Spring

Summertime calls for ultra light, flexible and breathable clothes and accessories, and shoes are no exception. Orcatex Shoes have been aiming to do that since 2013 and the company, Orcatex Design headed by Mitchell Fein, shipped their first shoes for retail sale in 2015. Versatility is the name of the game with this footwear, allowing people to jump from beach to boat to bar or boutique. They are non-slip, comfortable and perfectly packable coming in navy or black (red, white and light blue are on the way). Stylist Lauren Arkin-Malacsina of L.A. Boudoir Miami “More than Just Vintage” showed Pulse readers how to put their best feet forward.

For Men

For those heading to a Main Street destination, “[Orcatex shoes] pair nicely with a linen pant and short sleeve button down shirt or khaki pants and a Hawaiian print shirt.” Arkin-Malacsina suggested a two-pocket light blue shirt like this one from Cubavera. Try pairing the dress shirt with a perfectly breathable slim fit drawstring jogger. But when the sun is shining and the beach is calling your name, go with a light lagoon blue striped board short, like this one from J.Crew.

For Ladies

Orcatex shoes are great for a weekend getaway because they pack light. “You can pair them with Bermuda shorts and a linen blouse for exploring the town either day or night.” Arkin-Malacsina recommended a structured off-the-shoulder striped sweater like this one from J.Crew. The bold cotton-crepe style is the perfect dressy option with denim jeans.

For Both (Unisex)

Because Orcatex has a slip-on design wearers can easily rock them on a boat, by the pool or even around the spa. “They can work with a wide range of swimsuit styles and cover-ups.” It’s all about finding the style that suits you best.
