Sunset Harbor, Patchogue

Cross stand-up paddleboarding off your bucket list (where it’s been for about three years), while enjoying beautiful views of this East Patchogue harbor. Long Island SUP offers stand-up paddle boarding excursions in the spring and summer. The workout builds core and upper body strength, and the boaters in the yacht club are known to cheer on and banter with participants, making the excursion more fun. Go

Yoga in the Vines, Riverhead

A trip to the wineries is a must-do every spring and summer, but before hydrating, increase flexibility and mindfulness with Palmer’s Yoga in the Vines program. The hour-long morning classes typically start in June. There’s no shame in making a post-practice trip to the tasting room for a sip of Albariño—the winery was the first on the North Fork to come out with the Spanish wine that boasts a bright acidity and pairs perfectly with seafood (a healthy choice!). Long Beach’s iconic boardwalk

Let’s face it: running is more of a necessary evil than hobby for many. But breaking a sweat can get a little more fun (or at least doable) if runners have a view of the Atlantic Ocean, rather than a typical somewhat paved side street in the middle of their ‘hood. This is true for the dozens who crush their workouts every day on the 2.2-mile Long Beach boardwalk. Once that final mile is logged, people can refuel at The Shoregasboard at Riverside & The Beach. Keep it healthy with a wrap from the Wellness Cafe or a NY Acai fruit bowl. Go
