Another success for the annual event held at the Madison Theatre at Molloy College in Rockville Centre. The roster of best-selling authors drew hundreds of people eager to hear them read and talk about their writing. On hand were Friars Club historian and writer Barry Dougherty, who read a humor essay in addition to serving double duty as LitFest emcee; novelist Caroline Leavitt; Long Island author Steven Gaines; New York Times best-selling author Cathi Hanauer in conversation with internationally acclaimed author of Passages, Gail Sheehy; legendary comic George Carlin’s daughter Kelly Carlin, who read from her memoir; longtime David Letterman writer and novelist Bill Scheft; and original SNL writer Alan Zweibel, who was joined by Pulitzer Prize-winning humorist Dave Barry.
