Copious Row Beach Will Bring Playful Designs to Southampton

Copious Row has already made a name for itself as a unique destination for dazzling designer wear. David Chines opened his first location in Sag Harbor in 2015 and provided shoppers with exclusive jewelry, accessories and women’s apparel that went off the typical Havaianas-and-Lily Pulitzer beaten paths. He expanded to Greenwich, Connecticut in 2016 and decided to replace the Sag Harbor location with one in Southampton this spring.

Called Copious Row Beach, the new store will continue selling high-end merchandise that can’t be found elsewhere. But the new shop will have more casual, beachy items perfect for the Hamptons. Unlike the Greenwich and Sag Harbor stores, which focused mainly on accessories like statement jewels for a glam night out, the Southampton location will specialize in women’s ready-to-wear apparel that can easily transition between lounging poolside to exploring the town.

“There will be more casual day and evening wear and also resort wear, totes and bags. It speaks to the overall feel of store.”

The atmosphere will follow suit. The decor at the Southampton store will be as modern and laid-back as an afternoon on Main Beach. The interior will feature Copious Row’s signature marble touches with fun twists like palm tree wallpaper, the store’s logo on a neon magenta sign, beachy hardwood floors and contemporary artwork by artist Murakami.

In addition to the two stores, Copious Row also has a website and online shop. Although there will be some overlap with merchandise in the store and on the website, visitors will find more specialty items at Copious Row Beach.

Chines is especially excited about displaying Judith Leiber clutches that come in whimsical shapes such as ice cream cones and conch shells and LJ Cross jewelry, whose motto is “diamonds for the beach.” He will also feature brands and designers such as Monse, Delpozo and Tomas Maier. Chines is also proud that Copious Row Beach will carry Brock Collection, a line that features airy and delicate blouses, dresses and pants and also won the CFDA award last year.

“[W]e are the exclusive carrier of them in the Hamptons. [Customers] can’t find them anywhere else on Long Island for that matter.”

In a sea of designer duds, Copious Row Beach promises to be the place to find that elusive pearl.

Copious Row Beach, opening May 19, will be open from 10am to 6pm Monday through Saturday, and noon to 5pm on Sundays. Visit the new location at 28C Jobs Lane in Southampton.
