Shoe lovers are in for a sweet deal when the M.Gemi Truck pulls into to the Hampton Classic this month. The retro, vintage shoe truck, the on-wheels version of high-end footwear company M. Gemi, started its eight-week journey in Newport July 22 and followed with stops at east coast summer hot spots like Wequassett Resort on Cape Cod.
The cherry on top? The M. Gemi Truck doesn’t just sell shoes. Yes, customers can purchase the Cerchio sneaker (a slip-on suede sneaker, hand woven in Italy) in an array of colors. Each hue corresponds with a gelato flavor from artisanal maker Morano Gelato. Delicious variations include pineapple, strawberry & basil, blueberry, dark chocolate, meringue, orange, bacio and mint.
To complete the Italian “esperienza,” visitors can test-drive the luxury Fiat 124 Spider convertible that will be traveling with the tour. One lucky winner will get to call the hot wheels his or her own for three months as part of the “Fall in Love with Fiat & M. Gemi” giveaway. The chosen one will also get a season’s worth of M. Gemi shoes.
