
The film industry on Long Island has been booming with tons of movies shot in this neck of the woods. There are also not one, but two Long Island studios in Bethpage that attract all kinds of productions including action movies, musicals and TV shows. Take a glimpse of some of the big deal titles that have been filmed at least partially at either Gold Coast or Grumman studios.
The Week Of (2018)

Adam Sandler, Chris Rock and Steve Buscemi were recently spotted filming the Netflix original comedy, The Week Of, in various locations including Gold Coast Studios. The film chronicles preparations leading up to a wedding between the daughter of Sandler’s character and the son of the Rock’s character. Though no filming locations have been confirmed, the stars were spotted arriving in Glen Cove. Sandler and Rock rented properties in Sands Point for the duration of filming, and dined at Stella’s Ristorante in Floral Park. The movie debuts on Netflix in 2018.
Ocean’s 8 (2018)

Ocean’s 8 is a sequel and all-female spinoff of the Ocean’s Trilogy. In this flick, Danny Ocean’s estranged sister Debbie attempts a heist at the Met Gala. The movie filmed at various locations in Manhattan and at Long Island’s Grumman Studios. The cast includes powerhouse names like Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway, Dakota Fanning, Katie Holmes and Rihanna. It is scheduled for release June 8, 2018.
John Wick: Chapter 2 (2017)

Keanu Reeves plays the title character in this crime thriller about a former criminal who returns to his dangerous lifestyle to settle a debt only to discover that a bounty has been put on his life. The movie filmed all over the world with stops in Rome and Montreal as well as in Bethpage.
Winter’s Tale (2014)

In this twisted love story, a burglar falls for an heiress who is dying, and then tries to use his gift of reincarnation to bring her back to life. The movie stars Colin Farrell, Russell Crowe and Jessica Brown Findlay. It was filmed all over New York state at locations including Tarrytown, Manhattan and Bethpage at Gold Coast Studios.
The Amazing Spiderman 2 (2014)

The superhero sequel starring Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone and Jaime Foxx was filmed at both Gold Coast and Grumman studios. A to-scale model of Times Square was even built at Gold Coast studios for filming.
Annie (2014)

In addition to filming on location in Manhattan, scenes for the remake of the popular musical Annie were shot at Grumman Studios. Jaime Foxx stars as Will Stacks, the remake’s version of Daddy Warbucks, and Quvenzhané Wallis is the title orphan character, Annie. The film was produced by Jay-Z and Will Smith.
Man on a Ledge (2012)

This combination action/crime/psychological thriller stars Elizabeth Banks as Lydia Mercer, a police psychologist who tries to talk an ex-con (Sam Worthington) out of jumping from a hotel rooftop in New York City. The film was shot on location all over Manhattan and on Long Island at Gold Coast Studios.

The film, starring Angelina Jolie as an accused Russian spy on the run, was filmed at various locations across Long Island including Grumman Studios in Bethpage, Caumsett State Park in Huntington, The Republic Airport in East Farmingdale, as well as various locations in Merrick, Hicksville and Oyster Bay.

Since 2013, NBC has been broadcasting revivals of popular musicals, and they started the tradition right on the Grumman stage. These include The Sound of Music, Peter Pan and The Wiz.
