10 New York Restaurants to Check Out During NYCWFF

They say it would take approximately 23 years to eat at every New York City restaurant. From Oct. 12-15, the New York City Wine & Food Festival (NYCWFF) offers people the chance to do the eater’s digest version—guilt-free. The four-day event brings together world-renowned chefs and beverage producers for tastings, parties and classes that will leave foodie’s satisfied until Thanksgiving dinner. All of the net proceeds will benefit the Food Bank for New York City and the No Kid Hungry Campaign. Since calories don’t count when you’re giving back, be sure to pop into these New York restaurants during the festival. Can’t wait? Get a first taste this weekend.

Landmarc Restaurant, Manhattan

This casual upscale bi-level restaurant is a happy hour destination with toast-worthy food. The hopping downstairs features a horseshoe bar that’s known to fill up shortly after the workday witching hour and the quieter upstairs is prime real estate for indulging in thick, buttery spaghetti alla Bolognese. On Thursday, Oct. 12, Landmarc’s Marc Murphy will host Smorgasburg, Brooklyn’s popular open-air market, presented by Thrillist and hosted by cast of Chopped. Click for tickets

Clay tiled floors and a corn mural transport guests from industrialized to a south-of-the-border hideaway at this hip eatery. Inside, the vibe is hip but casual and Taco Tuesday is every day. The restaurant will be proving that during NYCFWW—it will be home to Tacos & Tequila presented by Tequila Cazadores on a Thursday (Oct. 12). Celebrity chef Aaron Sanchez will suit up as host and guests will be able to sample tacos and creative cocktails as dance-worthy tunes play in the background. Click for tickets

Just the name of this bar/bakery hybrid, which started as a Smorgasburg stand, oozes Brooklyn cool. The space seamlessly blends retro cool with nightlife hotspot with checkered napkins, dimly-lit geometric hanging lights, marquee signs and 90s music the Millennial crowd loves. At the counter, guests can order a slice of chocolate cake with their Old-Fashioned, a heavenly concept. A sweet tooth’s haven, Petee’s Pie Company serves up everything from sweet potato to apple pie in a bright, white-walled space. On Friday, Oct. 13, lucky guests at the Pie vs. Cake party hosted by Duff Goldman will be asked some seriously tough questions: apple pie vs. carrot cake? Chocolate caramel layer cake vs. chess pie? On Saturday, Oct. 14, Executive Chef of Quality Italian, Nick Gaube will be on-site of Alfa Romeo presents Italian Harvest Party sponsored by illy caffe and Barilla. Instagram foodie sensation poke (pronounced ooh-kay), a sushi bowl marinated in a customizable blend of sauces, has made its way from the SoCal shores to the New York Harbors. Wisefish Poke, an industrial-meets-rustic red-and-white brick interior space with counter service, opened last year and has been drawing trendy foodies ever since. On Saturday, Oct. 14, it’ll draw BD Wong (Law and Order: SVU) for an evening of spirited bites and cocktail pairings. Word to the wise: Take an afternoon nap. On Saturday, Oct. 14, Masaharu Morimoto is bringing their Kitchen Stadium to life as a host of Rooftop Iron Chef Showdown: Battle Autumn Bounty hosted by Alton Brown.
