Casual perfection

Long or short ponchos can make a casual look pop. Kaye suggested pairing it with boyfriend jeans and a breton top during a weekend outing. Or opt for some skinny jeans and a denim button down for the playful look seen above.

Pair it with a hat

A soft sweater worn with jeans and boots is an ideal fall look. Throwing a poncho over it enhances the outfit and a hat is the perfect finishing touch. “Adding a felted hat makes this outfit seem incredibly cool and not like you’re trying too hard,” Kaye explained.

An extra layer

There’s nothing wrong with packing on the outerwear during very chilly days. “[A poncho is] a perfect extra layer over a leather jacket,” Kaye said. It’s best to rock a sleeveless poncho for this look.

Belt it

It’s always a good idea to up an outfit with some accessories. In this case, “belting a poncho makes a chic statement,” Kaye said. A thin belt like the one above adds just the right amount of pop and accentuates the waist.

Office chic

Ponchos can also have a dressy appeal long as you get the rest of the outfit right. “For an effortless office appropriate look, pair with heels and a trouser pant,” Kaye said.
