Award-winning local author and historian Kerriann Flanagan Brosky will be speaking and signing copies of her book, Historic Crimes of Long Island: Misdeeds from 1600s to the 1950s. What: 7th Annual Friends and Angels Fundraiser
Where: Mulcahy’s of Wantagh

WhatSo You Think You Can Dance Season 14 Tour
Where: Tilles Center for the Preforming Arts
When: Saturday, Oct. 14, 8pm
Why Go: Dancers, dance lovers and SYTYCD fans unite! The top 10 finalists from season 14, as well as all-stars Jasmine Harper and Marko Germar, will preform live at the Tilles Center. The performance will include never-before-seen dances and favorites from the season. Click to go

What: Painting on the Porch

Cold Spring Harbor

What: Hills and Loop Hike
Where: Nassau-Suffolk Greenbelt Trailhead, Harbor Rd.
When: Sunday, Oct. 15, 9am
Why Go: Hours spent in the gym are a waste of perfect fall weather. A 4.8 mile hilly hike on the Greenbelt Trail is a creative way to get your weekend workout in. Hikers are advised to bring water and trail snacks and a hiking pole if they have one. Call the morning of the hike if rain is in the forecast. Click to go
