Mashomack Preserve, Shelter Island

This 2,039-acre preserve is full of hikes through oak-hickory forests, open fields, ponds and marshes. There is a 10-mile hike that will bring hikers to vistas of Gardiner’s Bay and a 1.5-mile red trail that is full of information hubs that inform visitors about the area’s history, flora and fauna.
