A sandwich paradise continues to expand on Long Island. Jersey Mike’s Subs, a franchise with more than 1,500 locations across the country, opened its doors in Farmingdale on Nov. 1. It became the seventh location on Long Island with others in Port Jefferson Station, Commack, Freeport, Bellmore, Hauppauge and Uniondale.

It’s the latest venture from Jeffrey and Laura Maier, of Massapequa, who also own Long Island’s Dairy Queen locations. “The thing that sold us is the products, just the high quality sub sandwich,” said Jeffrey.
Customers can expect to find Jersey Mike’s beloved cold and hot subs and wraps. Jeffrey can’t get enough of two in particular. “In terms of cold subs, I recommend our #13, The Original Italian,” he said. “It has pretty much most of our meats on there—provolone, ham, prosciuttini, cappacuolo, salami and pepperoni. That’s kind of my go-to.”
From hot sandwiches made on the grill, he raved about the Jersey Mike’s Famous Philly. It’s a classic Philly cheesesteak with grilled onions and peppers made with white American cheese and steak. But the menu goes on to include more than two dozen sandwiches, five wraps, a kids meal and desserts.
The Maiers are also staying true to the company’s culture of giving back. Jersey Mike’s has raised more than $25 million for charities since 2010. During opening week, the couple donated proceeds from sandwich sales to the Farmingdale PTA.
Jersey Mike’s Subs in Farmingdale is located at 1280 Broadhollow Road.
