What: 2018 Winter Antiques Show
Where: Park Avenue Armory (643 Park Avenue)
When: Friday, Jan. 19 – Sunday, Jan. 28, 12pm-6pm
Why Go: Travel back to ancient times with an eclectic mix of works in the fine and decorative arts. Dating from ancient times to present day, each object exhibited at the show is vetted for authenticity, date and condition. There is also a cafe on the premises. Click to go

What: Cupcake Tour of New York
Where: Southwest Corner of Union Square Park (14th St. and Union Sq. West)
When: Sunday, Jan. 21, 12pm-2:30pm
Why Go: Savor and sample the diversity of heavenly cupcakes scattered throughout New York City. There will be six tastings (both on the sidewalk or inside the establishments) from trendy cupcake shops. Click to go

What: Fine Wine & Food Festival
Where: Nassau Veteran’s Memorial Coliseum (1255 Hempstead Turnpike)
When: Saturday, Jan. 20, 12pm-8pm
Why Go: Showcasing the area’s top wineries and food vendors, this event promises to be extravagant. There will be more than 150 wines from New York and New Jersey’s wine regions as well as New York’s top distilleries, cideries and breweries. The festival will also feature gourmet foods from the best restaurants and food vendors around Long Island and NYC. Click to go

What: Whiskey Hill Hike
Where: Mill Path off Lopers Path
When: Saturday, Jan. 20, 10am-11am
Why Go: Start the morning with a moderately-paced 1.7 mile hike that has stunning ocean views. Hikers will also see kettle hole ponds and an enormous glacial erratic along the way. Click to go

What: Riverhead Farmers Market

When: Saturday, Jan. 20, 10am-2pm
