Like many New Yorkers, one summer season in the Hamptons wasn’t enough for Will Guidara and chef Daniel Humm. The owners of popular New York City restaurant Eleven Madison Park, who debuted its Hamptons outpost last year as a way to retain staff while it was undergoing renovations, are joining forces with American Express to bring EMP Summer House back to East Hampton May 25 to mid-September.
“We ended up having so much fun out East last summer and created so many new relationships, that we couldn’t resist the opportunity to come back,” said Humm.
Drawing inspiration from the Hamptons, Humm is still developing and testing the summer menu. Yet diners can expect to see some familiar dishes like lobster tempura with bibb lettuce, pickled radish and chile-lime aioli, and ribeye for two, wood-fired with shallot, Parmesan and potato. The new dishes will also be made using produce from local purveyors.
Returning to the same spot on Pantigo Road, the pop-up will keep the laid-back, beach vibe and decor. Like last year, there will be a more formal-type dining room inside with a wood-burning oven. Once outside, guests will be able to sit under the covered patio with picnic tables and lawn games including cornhole and pétanque.
Even though the opening is still weeks away, patrons with an American Express card can start making reservations May 1.
EMP Summer House will be located at 341 Pantigo Rd in East Hampton
