A solo exhibit of acrylic paintings by Dan Angeli. When describing Angeli’s paintings words such as unabating energy first comes to mind. Global turbulent conditions are expressed in the components found in his compositions. A cross between Abstract Expressionist brushwork and Surrealist elements, gesture and geometry all blended together. Sharp shapes appear to fly through water or air, objects are exploding or blown by forceful winds. Angeli writes that his work examines the tension between industrial structures and the chaos of natural phenomena.
