Acclaimed folk/rock duo Aztec Two-Step will celebrate the release of “Naked”, their first album of all new original material since 2004. This special show will also include the album’s producer, Gary Schreiner, on keyboards and chromatic harmonica, as well as the three backing vocalists who are featured on the album.
They will perform selections from “Naked”, including “Family,” “Way Down in New Orleans” and of course the CD’s title track and its first single released as a video, “Naked,” – a heartening, socially-conscious song with contemporary themes. The duo will also perform a few of their favorite holiday songs and fan-favorites with longtime bassist Fred Holman from their distinguished 46 year career.
Aztec Two-Step’s 1972 self-titled debut on Elektra Records and three subsequent albums for RCA Records were staples of progressive FM & college radio, helping to usher the music of the 1960s into the ’70s and beyond. Since then, they have accumulated over four decades of awards, accolades and TV & radio appearances, and are still defined by their intelligent songwriting, dazzling acoustic lead guitar & inspiring harmonies. Aztec Two-Step continues to be one of acoustic music’s most beloved, respected & enduring acts.
