Three masters display their virtuosic grandeur in a program that beams with energy. While World War II was raging, émigré Bohoslav Martinů was in the glorious surroundings of Tanglewood in Massachusetts, composing his bright and lively trio for piano, flute and cello. Mozart’s Duo for violin and viola exemplifies virtuosic elegance, while Beethoven’s “Archduke” piano trio captures the composer in all his heroic glory.
