The Doxsee Legacy: Growing Up in a Fishing and Clamming Family
WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 12, 2016 | 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm

Bob Doxsee Jr. owned the Doxsee Sea Clam Company, a supplier of clams to the continental U.S. and Hawaii until Hurricane Sandy destroyed its operations. He shares his childhood experiences of life in Freeport and Point Lookout, fishing with his father, harvesting clams and operating a fishing boat. This rich presentation demonstrates the once large clamming industry and times past on Long Island. For further information please contact the library at 631-567-5079 or visit our website.
