Originally scheduled for August 7, the second round of the Annual Great Neck Plaza Idol Karaoke Contest will now take place at the Wednesday, August 13 Promenade Night (rain date August 14). Taking place on Middle Neck Road, between Grace Ave. and Cutter Mill Road, from 6:30 p.m. -10:30 p.m., the evening will feature, in addition to the karaoke contest, dance performances by To The Pointe! – Katya’s School of Dance, face painting by Paulette, candy sculptures by JPZ Entertainment, and caricatures by Akbar. Participating restaurants include Sip City, Ethos, Bareburger and Café Kriza. 16 Handles will also have outdoor seating.
Sign-ups for the second round of the Great Neck Plaza Idol Karaoke Contest will start at 7:30 p.m. The first 25 people to enter the competition will participate. The karaoke contest will start at 8:30 and will be hosted by Sal Vivo. Participants must be over 14 years old to enter. There will be six winners chosen, who will be invited back to compete against the winners from the June 26 competition in the championship round at the 30th Annual Autofest & Street Festival on September 21, 2014.
