Photographer Walter Weissman provides insights into his works on view in the Wasserstein Gallery through February 21, 2016. The exhibition is an intimate photographic study in black and white of some of the most influential performing, literary, fine artists and designers of our time. The 15 portraits capture Chuck Close; Donald Sultan; Dennis Oppenheim; Roy Lichtenstein; Ross Bleckner; Edward Albee; Dan Flavin; Eric Fischl; Billy Joel; Larry Rivers; Calvin Klein; Betty Friedan; Elaine de Kooning; Robert Rauschenberg; Roy Lichtenstein and Arman in rare spontaneous and unguarded moments at the zenith of their creative careers with many of the images taken at Guild Hall. The photographs each measure 20” x 24’’ and are either archival pigment ink on archival Canson Baryta photo paper or archival silver gelatin prints and were shot digitally or using film with a 35mm camera equipment from 1983-2001.
