Artistic Director Sydnie Grosberg Ronga of Gotham Radio Theatre will recreate the world of old time radio in a unique performance workshop at the Vail. Inspired by the Lux Radio Theatre of the 1930’s and 40’s, Gotham Radio Theatre recreates the experience of being in a radio sound stage Sydnie will explain how Gotham evolved their style – radio theatre for contemporary audiences. She will also share some of the practicalities of doing live radio including both working with foley (sound effect) props and working with the actor’s voice. Actors and audience members will be invited to join in performing scenes from some of Gotham’s most popular scripts.
Apart from her work with Gotham, Sydnie Grosberg Ronga has been associate artistic director for both Max & Louie Productions (St. Louis) and The Phoenix Theatre Company (NY). Sydnie is also a popular arts educator.
