Inspired by the true story of the controversial 1923 Broadway debut of Sholem Asch’s God of Vengeance, this new play with music from Pulitzer Prize winner Paula Vogel and director Rebecca Taichman is set at a time when waves of immigrants were changing the face of America and takes a riveting look at an explosive moment in theatrical history. This perfmance comes to Guild Hall from its critically acclaimed, sold-out run at the Vineyard Theatre. The New York Times called it “superbly realized and remarkably powerful” and critics have hailed it as one of the best plays of the year.
