Car buffs, barbecue lovers and bargain shoppers will all have a good reason to come to the Pennysaver Amphitheater on Oct. 11 and 12 for a huge weekend of events that will benefit Long Island breast cancer coalitions.
On Saturday, Oct. 11, Long Island’s largest flea and farmers market takes place in the amphitheater parking lot. Shoppers can scout for vintage finds and vendors wanting to take their yard sales up a notch can bring their items to sell during this day long event. Also taking place will be a chili cook-off, where the crowd will name a winner and bestow them with the People’s Choice Award. Events run from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Long Island Cares will be on hand to collect canned and non-perishable food donations. Admission and parking are free. This is a rain or shine event.
On Sunday, Oct. 12, from 10 a.m. -5 p.m., a judged car show will take place along with our first annual barbecue cook-off competition. Hard core grillers will heat up the afternoon as they compete for prizes in this judged competition. Long Island’s hottest rides will be on display during the Hope on the Hill Car Show. There is a fee for parking.
A portion of the proceeds from this event will be donated to Long Island breast cancer coalitions in honor of breast cancer awareness month.
