Bring your chairs and blankets and kids and dogs and coolers and celebrate original music with the Live in the Lobby team!

The Patchogue Theatre for the Performing arts and The Incorporated Village of Patchogue Present an evening of original music by the bay. The critically acclaimed Live in the Lobby series moves down to Shorefront Park for a free concert featuring Long Island singer-songwriters Jessie Haynes, Claudia Jacobs, and Rorie Kelly.

Claudia Jacobs is a rare combination of soulful singer, heartfelt poet and spirited entertainer. Her inspirations are culled from multiple styles including blues, folk, Americana, rock, R&B, and Jazz making her one of those difficult-to-categorize artists. Always entertaining, she can be heartbreaking one moment and rambunctiously brassy the next; few performers can fill a stage as completely. Her lyric topics embrace a wide range from the human experience simply and honestly; addressing joy, pain, injustice, and hope often with sass and humor. Awarded the title “Long Island’s Favorite Soul Singer” by the Long Island Press and “One of the New York areas finest female singer-songwriters…” by WFUV’s John Platt; she has shared the stage with many folk icons and is winning new fans everyday from Maine to Minnesota. www.claudiajacobs.com

Jessie Haynes has always had music as part of her life. She founded & became lead guitarist & primary songwriter for the all-female rock band, “Sweet Little Sister,” and opened for major acts all over Long Island, Manhattan, upstate New York, New Jersey & Connecticut. Haynes also formed a 4 piece acoustic, all female band to work on Long Island called Loona while SLS was popular, managing booking & promotion for both groups.

During this time, Haynes was hired to perform on rhythm guitar & backing vocals for “Blackmore’s Night,” ex Deep Purple guitarist Ritchie Blackmore’s project, touring the world and making numerous live appearances on radio & TV. Since then, she has recorded a number of solo albums, continued to perform live at venues on Eastern Long Island, and has been hosting a monthly night of music at the Historic Vail-Leavitt Music Hall called Original Voices at the Vail in Riverhead where she manages and books as well as performs. www.jessiehaynes.com

Rorie Kelly is a small redheaded tornado of sound. Her aggressive acoustic guitar style complements raw, powerhouse vocals to pack a serious punch. First-time listeners often comment, “I can’t believe that voice came out of that!” The Long Island based singer/songwriter’s catchy, melodic style has been compared to artists ranging from Sarah Bareilles to Joni Mitchell to Janis Joplin. Rorie’s debut release, Wish Upon a Bottlecap, received airplay across the nation and her stellar followup CD called Sincerely Live features knockout performances of brand new songs and fan favorites, recorded Live in the Lobby at the Patchogue Theatre! www.roriekelly.com.
