The renowned Lynch Ballet Company of Huntington, NY will celebrate its fifth anniversary with a charming production of Sleeping Beauty, featuring 140 Lynch School of Ballet dancers, and choreographed by Alexander Dutko, formerly of Miami City Ballet. Playing Prince Desire will be Oliver Oguma, of American Ballet Theatre Studio Company. Molly Daly, formerly with Washington Ballet is the evil Carabosse. Lynch Ballet Company Alumna Alyssa Brogan, a dance major at Adelphi University on full scholarship, will be Aurora.
This enchanting classic premiered in 1890 in St. Petersburg, Russia and was originally choreographed by Marius Petipa, with a score by Tchaikovsky. Favorite fairytale characters Little Red Riding Hood and Bluebird also appear in this delightful performance. Lynch Ballet Company’s Spring 2014 production promises to dazzle audiences with its gifted dancers, professional sets and beautiful costumes designed by Madeline Hinkis, former costume mistress for American Ballet Theater II.
Performances will take place at Huntington High School, in Huntington NY on Saturday May 31, 2014 at 6:00PM and Sunday June 1, 2014 at 3:00 PM. Tickets are $25 for Adults and $20 for Children, and available for sale at the Lynch Ballet Box Office at 631-942–3933.
