Lynch Ballet Company’s 6th Annual Nutcracker Production

The renowned Lynch Ballet Company of Huntington, NY presents its spectacular sixth annual Nutcracker production with 130 Lynch School of Ballet dancers and Julliard graduate Nicholas Ranauro as the Cavalier. Thomas Harrison, of the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School at American Ballet Theatre is the male Soldier Doll. Sharing the role of Sugarplum Fairy will be Lynch Ballet Company’s Caroline Tonks and Alexandra Smith. Tonks has attended the highly competitive Pacific Northwest Ballet’s summer intensive in each of the last four years, and Smith has won American Ballet Theatre’s prestigious National Training Scholarship for the second year in a row.
“Caroline Tonks and Ali Smith have been my students since age six, and rising to the role of Sugarplum Fairy is quite an achievement. I am very proud of how accomplished they are at age 15,” said founder and Artistic Director, Karen Lynch.
Nutcracker, a timeless two-act classic premiered in 1892 in St. Petersburg Russia and was originally choreographed by Marius Petipa and Lev Ivanov with a score by Tchaikovsky. Over one hundred years later the Nutcracker remains a holiday favorite. The 2014 Lynch Ballet Company production promises to dazzle audiences young and old with its gifted dancers, timeless tale and gorgeous costumes designed by Madeline Hinkis, former costume mistress for American Ballet Theater II.
“The set and costumes are beautiful, with new costumes for the Grey Mice and Soldier Doll this year,” Karen Lynch commented.
The production will take place at Huntington High School, in Huntington NY on Saturday December 20, 2014 at 2:00PM and 6:00PM and Sunday December 21, 2014 at 12:00 PM and 4:00PM. Tickets are $30 for Adults and $20 for Children, and available for sale at the Lynch Ballet Box Office at 631-942–3933.
