In May 2015 MASS MoCA will present a solo exhibition by Clifford Ross titled, Landscape Seen and Imagined, that will include selections from the artist’s richly detailed and idealistic Mountain series; works from his abstract series, Mountain Redux; and a massive black and white negative print of Colorado’s Mount Sopris, printed on raw wood. This image will fill one entire wall of the museum’s three-story gallery, towering over visitors much like the mountain itself. In a series of accompanying live video events, MASS MoCA will also present Ross’ video, Harmonium Mountain, outdoors, enveloping the museum’s courtyards and set to specially commissioned scores from legendary contemporary composers and psychedelic rock bands. The artist lives and works in New York City.
