A RIPE Art Gallery Annual Exhibition Lucky Numbers, The Love Project.
This Year RIPE Art will be celebrating our 13th Anniversary! AND we will be hosting our 11th Annual Valentine’s Day Group Show! This Years THEME is “Lucky Numbers.” As always, the Opening Reception happens on Valentine’s Day; Tuesday, February 14, 2017 from 6:30-9:30pm. Our Annual Valentine’s Exhibition is always one of our most widely anticipated yearly shows, and always well attended! Last year we had 98 participating artists, showing over 130 pieces of work. “Lucky Numbers” is an open submission show drawing local artists, working in all types of mediums. Some of the best artists on Long Island and the New York area will be interpreting the “Lucky Numbers” theme. In addition to “Lucky Numbers,” we are excited to have Ruben Natal-San Miguel, noted contemporary street photographer’s “The Love Project” exhibit in the gallery. This is Natal-San Miguel’s first solo collection here at RIPE. This new series, is a compelling look at street life and people from Bronx, NYC, and Brooklyn.
RIPE’s new addition, The ‘Don’t ask, Don’t Tell’ boutique gallery will be exhibiting Ratgrrl’s brand new “Weaponized Femme” series. A commentary on the weapons in which women use to avoid unwanted attention.
Submissions open until February 11th.
The Valentine’s exhibit will be up until March 4th.
