safeTALK is a 3 hour alertness training that is designed for anyone age 15 or older, including many in more formal helping roles. The steps learned in safeTALK have helped participants from all walks of life become suicide-alert helpers. Most people with thoughts of suicide don’t truly want to die, but are struggling with the pain in their lives. Through their words and actions, they invite help to stay alive. safeTALK-trained helpers can recognize these invitations and take action by connecting them with life-saving intervention resources, such as caregivers trained in ASIST or community resources. FREE! To register please contact Liliana Rodriguez at (631) 329-6939, last day to register is Tuesday, April 11. For ages 15 and up.
