Dance Visions NY will be honoring the legendary choreographer Isadora Duncan’s dances, aesthetic and technique, which were created in the early 20th century – the same era in which the Guggenheim Estate was formed. On this 140th anniversary of Isadora’s birth, the company of fifteen dancers will perform a combination of Duncan’s works as well as site specific contemporary dances by Beth Jucovy. Included in the program will be newly revived Duncan masterpieces. The works are all tailored to the performance sites at the preserve including indoors and out. The program is hosted by Actress Shirley Romaine and includes live music.
This project is made possible with funds from the Decentralization Program, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew M. Cuomo and the New York State Legislature and administered by the Huntington Arts Council
