Sofar Sounds, the live event experience popular for hosting secret, intimate performances around the world, is making its Long Island debut with a show in Greenport on Saturday, December 16.
Sofar was founded in 2009 and has quickly earned a reputation as a go-to source for discovering new artists and exciting way to explore cities at home and abroad. Sofar hosts secret performances in intimate settings, from living rooms to retail stores to private rooftops with skyline views.
How it works: each show starts out as a secret as guests sign on for three unnamed performances at undisclosed locations. When signing up for a show, people only choose the neighborhood they want to attend the event in, giving them an opportunity to explore a brand new area or stay close to home. Performers are also kept a secret, adding to the excitement. Guests could see everyone from Ed Sheeran to Bastille to an emerging artist who’s about to be the next big thing.
