2014 marks the 3rd year Spectrum Designs has been serving the Long Island Autism Community. Just a few years ago we embarked on a very ambitious journey; to sustain a operating business that would offer employment training and fair wages to people with autism.
Today,1 in 68 children has been diagnosed as having an autism spectrum disorder. There are an estimated 500,000 teens and young adults with autism who will enter adulthood in the next decade looking for work. With fewer resources being allocated to adult services and even fewer businesses able to accommodate the needs of people with autism, many will lead lives of isolation and have minimal opportunities to engage in the workforce.
Spectrum Designs is committed to making a meaningful impact in the lives of those with autism. Since its inception, Spectrum has employed over 30 individuals with autism. We have come so far in such a short amount of time and we look forward to the limitless opportunities the future holds for this thriving organization.
However, we cannot do it without your help. Autism is a lifelong neurological condition. Although there is no cure, there is hope in taking action.
Please join us on Monday September 15 at the exclusive Sands Point Golf Club and help us make a difference in the lives of people with autism. Thank you!
