The author of Only You, a memoir of growing up in Queens, New York in the late 1950s, has taught memoir and personal essay writing for over 20 years. She will talk about various aspects of memoir writing: the need for discipline and motivation, dealing with the fears, and then going ahead and doing it, getting your story down on paper. She will read excerpts from her book, and quote from other writers, on craft and inspiration. There will be a Q &A, and rock and roll tunes from Only You will play in the background. Bring a pad and pencil to take notes! And be prepared for a good time. Guild Hall’s series of lively lectures and engaging discussions on fascinating topics by local experts returns in 2015! Join us as we learn from the talent and expertise of our community members. Held from 11am-12:30pm on select Sundays in the Boots Lamb Education Center at Guild Hall, meet, mingle, munch and learn while enjoying coffee and light refreshments.
