The Safe Center LI will be hosting its annual food and beverage tasting fundraiser, Taste That Jazz, on Monday, April 4th from 6:30 – 8:30 pm at The Carltun at Eisenhower Park. This year’s event celebrates the music and style of a New Orleans Jazz Fest and features cuisine and beverages from popular restaurants, caterers, bakeries, and breweries. Come and sample a taste of New Orleans with dishes prepared by Big Daddy’s, Biscuits & Barbeque, Mara’s Homemade, Storyville American Table and the new Nawlins Seafood Company or vote on a favorite new dish created by a promising chef from Star Career Academy. Looking to sample Italian, Asian Fusion, or another cuisine? No worries. There will be many more popular restaurants to choose from. Our presenting sponsor, Palm Bay International, will be providing a wine tasting from its portfolio of wines while a cabaret featuring jazz music from pianist Greg Sweeney, Quintet Vocal Jazz, and Herricks Jazz Ensemble will entertain guests throughout the event.

Proceeds from this event support direct services and programs that move forward The Safe Center’s mission to protect, assist and empower victims of family violence and sexual assault while challenging and changing social systems that tolerate and perpetuate abuse. Victims can access a 24-hour domestic abuse and sexual assault hotline, legal assistance and advocacy, crisis intervention, emergency safe shelter, referrals, transitional and permanent housing, individual and group counseling, and hospital advocacy.
