Featuring award winning students and professional dancers, the Nutcracker performances will be held at the Maguire Theater at SUNY College in Old Westbury, December 17 at 7:00PM and December 18 at 4:00PM.
The story is by E.T. Hoffman and A. Dumas, the music by Peter Tchaikovsky, the choreography by Petipa and Ivanov. The ballet was originally performed in Russia in 1892. Lumiere Ballet’s professional staging is an adaptation of the traditional ballet in the grand manner of Imperial Russia. The magic of the music, the waltzing snowflakes, and the land of the sweets will give joy and inspiration to children of all ages.
