Two Play Two: Jane Monheit and Michael Kanan play Ellington and Gershwin at Bellport Methodist Church.
Grammy nominated jazz vocalist Jane Monheit, and pianist, Michael Kanan, will perform at 7:00 PM on Sunday evening, October 16th at Bellport Methodist Church in Bellport. This is a benefit concert for the Bay Area Friends of the Fine Arts (BAFFA).
An extraordinarily gifted jazz vocalist whose sincere and romantic interpretations of exceptional songs has made her a favorite in both jazz and cabaret worlds, Monheit has received numerous accolades in the past decade.
An international artist, Jane has performed at most of the major concert halls, cabarets and jazz venues around the globe. She has released eleven albums and two DVDs, and has appeared as a guest artist on many others.
BAFFA, founded in 1968, is a non-profit arts organization that supports a symphony orchestra and chorus with paid directors and volunteer musicians. Musicians rehearse throughout the year and present three to five concerts to which the public is invited at no charge.
BAFFA also maintains the BAFFA Art Gallery located in the historic Gillette House in Sayville.
